The Texas Cyberstar Certificate is recognition of an organization’s commitment to cybersecurity best practices and to being a good organizational cybercitizen in the Texas cybercommunity. The Texas Cybersecurity Council selected the following five criteria for organizations seeking to obtain a Texas Cyberstar Certificate. An organization must:
- Adopt a cybersecurity risk management program;
- Provide appropriate training and information for employees;
- Maintain consistency with National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) standards for cybersecurity;
- Incorporate public service announcements to encourage cybersecurity awareness; and
- Coordinate with local and state governmental entities.
Through its TechCare Managed IT Services Program, Datamax Inc. introduces enhanced security measures for businesses looking to safely navigate today’s cybersecurity climate. Among them: multifactor authentication, employee IT security education programs, and “Sandbox” advanced endpoint security analysis.
Huffaker says that earning the certificate is a “win-win” for both Datamax and the clients it helps shield against cyber threats every single day.
“If cybersecurity is important to the organizations that we work with AND if we are seeking ways to differentiate ourselves from competitors, the Texas Cyberstar Certificate is a good way to represent a dual commitment to protecting organizations’ sensitive data from the cyber criminals,” Huffaker said.
